Kate has recently finished filming the movie Flyboys starring Jean Reno, directed by Tony Bill  which will be released later this year. She was also seen as the murderess in a recent episode of Heart Beat.

Being the 2nd cousin of Paul McCartney (Kate's grandmother Annie McCartney and Paul's Father Jim McCartney were brother and sister) meant that Kate was born into a long musical tradition..references to her parents Bett and Mike Robbins are in the Beatles anthology- (Mike being the first "show business person" that John Lennon and Paul McCartney knew when they were teenagers- booking them to perform in his pub  and billing them as The Nurk twins) Paul McCartney employed Kate as a backing singer many years later on the album Press To Play.

When Kate Robbins set out on the road to success back in the early eighties she was primarily a singer and represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1980 as part of the group Prima Donna (they came third!!) ..then in 1981 Kate had a number 2 hit which sold half a million copies with the song More Than In Love. Her own TV series followed featuring her brother Ted Robbins . This was The Kate and Ted Show, follwed by The Kate Robbins Show where Kate showed her array of vocal skills as an impressionist. It was around this time that she became a regular voice on Spitting Image.

Kate has been a regular guest on the Radio2 Saturday show Jammin' where she enjoyed playing the piano and working with Roland Rivron, and her collaboration with Guy Pratt has proved successful as she now directs Guy's one man theatre show My Bass and Other Animals (which starts this Monday 13th November ‘06 at the King’s Head in Islington) and is taking it to the Edinburgh Fringe festival ( see www.guypratt.com under 'links' for details).

Playing the strange "I Come From UrmstonBabs in both series of Victoria Wood's Dinner Ladies. Kate later went on to star in Victoria Wood 's  Big Fat Documentary for BBC1. She can currently be heard in the Radio 4 comedy/drama series Three Off The Tee written by David Spicer.
